Roanna Kessler, MD

Chief Medical Director

Roanna Kessler (she/her/hers) started as the medical director of the Homewood primary care clinic in December 2016, and in June 2021 moved into the role of Chief Medical Director for Student Health and Well-Being, overseeing primary care services for all campuses.

Prior to joining the team at Hopkins, she was the Acting Director of the Georgetown University Student Health Center. She completed medical school and residency at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York and is board certified in Pediatrics. Dr. Kessler obtained her undergraduate degrees in Philosophy and Biology from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her special interests include the interaction between mental and physical health, particularly in regard to eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and insomnia. She lives in Chevy Chase, Maryland with her husband and three rambunctious sons.
