Iris Turay, DNP
Women's Health & Adult Nurse Practitioner
Iris Turay (she/her/hers) is a board-certified Women’s Health and Adult Nurse Practitioner. She joined the Homewood primary care clinic team in December of 2020. She obtained her BSN (2007) from St. Catherine University in St. Paul, MN and received her DNP (2013) from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN. Prior to joining Johns Hopkins, Iris provided primary care and sexual/reproductive health care services for over 6 years with Access Community Health Network in Addison, IL. She also worked at the DuPage Health Department in Wheaton, IL in the STI clinic, and the Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Prevention Program (IBCCP). Her special interests include sexual health education and reproductive justice.
Iris’ core energy is all about helping people feel empowered to live healthy fulfilling lives by providing holistic health care that is focused on education, equity, resources and shared decision making. She lives in PG County with her husband and tribe of 4 kids. When she’s not in the clinic, she enjoys spending time with family, gardening, nature hikes, and learning new ways to live a more sustainable and environmentally conscious life. Her therapeutic hobbies have earned Iris the endearing title of “Organic Ma” from her family.
