Hanan Aboumatar, MD, MPH

Associate Professor of Medicine

Dr. Aboumatar (she/her/hers) is an internationally recognized leader in improving patient-centered care. She completed her MD at the American University of Beirut Faculty of Medicine, her Family Medicine residency at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, and her Fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She is board certified In Family Medicine and Preventive Medicine. Her research focuses on improving patient-centeredness of care delivery and increasing patient and family engagement. She is core faculty and Executive Committee member at the Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality and an assistant professor at the Johns Hopkins Schools of Medicine and Public Health. Her clinical focus is in family medicine and general preventive medicine.
