Allergy Injections

Note: available in the Homewood location only

Students receiving an allergy injection prescribed by an allergist are eligible for on-going injections at the Homewood Primary Care clinic. Allergy injections are given by appointment only with our registered nurse at no charge. Students receiving injection services must present a printed signed patient agreement and a signed physician order. 

Initial Appointment 

For your initial appointment, you will need the following: 

  • Standing order from your allergist, including a physician order, dosage schedule, and specific instructions regarding missed or late doses 
  • Allergy serum (can be stored at the Homewood clinic) 

Please note that you must receive your first dose from your allergist. 

Initial Appointment Length 

  • 30 minutes (check-in, complete appointment-specific forms, receive injection) 
  • 30 minutes (post-injection evaluation time) 
  • Total time: 60 minutes 

Follow-up Appointment Length 

  • 15 minutes (check-in and receive injection) 
  • 30 minutes (post-injection evaluation time) 
  • Total time: 45-50 minutes
