Tonya Tuggle, MD

Staff Psychiatrist

Dr. Tonya Tuggle (she/her) attended Brown University where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Biochemistry. She obtained her Doctor of Medicine from Washington University School of Medicine, in St. Louis, Missouri.  Dr. Tuggle came to Baltimore for her psychiatry residency at University of Maryland Medical System where she also completed her fellowship in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.

 

Dr. Tuggle has over 25 years of experience working with students with special needs including those with behavioral problems, as well as those on the autism spectrum.  She spent over 2 decades working in forensics and training both the University of Maryland and Johns Hopkins fellows.  

 

Dr. Tuggle joined the Johns Hopkins MHS Homewood Counseling Center in 2023.  Prior to joining the JHU team, she was the Medical Director and Consultant on staff at various schools in the Baltimore metropolitan area, working with students with behavioral challenges and with developmental disabilities.

 

For leisure, Dr. Tuggle enjoys traveling, reading, singing and spending time with her family.
