 She/Her/Hers

Sheila joined Mental Health Services in 2025, having worked as a clinician and clinical leader in the DC Metropolitan area for over twenty years in a variety of public and private settings.  Her specialized experience includes working in inpatient psychiatric hospitals and crisis centers in community mental health settings.

In her current role, Sheila leads on-site crisis management at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg Center in Washington, DC, in collaboration with the Baltimore-based Behavioral Health Crisis Support Team (BHCST) and provides post-hospitalization support to students at the DC campus. She also provides supportive counseling to students and consultation to campus partners.

Two things Sheila especially enjoys about her work:

  • Empowering students and learners to build their resilience through utilization of natural resources and skill building.
  • Collaborating with campus and community partners to ensure that students and learners have high fidelity, trauma informed and culturally humble mental health services that fit their needs.
