Malaka Harper, LCPC

Assistant Director of Clinical Case Management

I attained my Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling with an additional concentration in pastoral counseling from Loyola University of Maryland. My Bachelor’s degree in Applied Psychology was earned at Coppin State University. With over 8 years of clinical experience, my approach as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor has always been rooted in compassion and genuine care for others. My expertise extends to assisting children, adolescents, adults, and families. My professional background encompasses the treatment of addiction, trauma, bipolar disorder, depression, and schizophrenia. As a clinician at Johns Hopkins Community Psychiatry Program, I spent over 4 years working in the adult schizophrenia clinic.

My commitment lies in assisting individuals in navigating life’s challenges. Driven by an unyielding passion for social justice and diversity, equity, and inclusion, I am dedicated to fostering positive change through education, awareness, and collaborative efforts. I am a firm believer in the power of empathy, dialogue, and action to create a more just and inclusive world.

During my leisure time, I cherish moments with my family, indulge in walks, travel, and relish in the rhythms of Caribbean/afrobeat music.
