James Aluri, MD, MA

Psychiatrist and Assistant Professor

Dr. James Aluri is an Assistant Professor in the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (JHUSOM) whose research program and clinical practice focus on postsecondary student mental health. He obtained his M.D. from JHUSOM in 2018 and graduated from the Johns Hopkins Hospital general psychiatry residency program in 2022, serving as a chief resident in his final year. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship in University Mental Health at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine before joining faculty. During fellowship, he gained additional clinical expertise in adult ADHD and treatment-resident mood disorders. Dr. Aluri also has a masters’ degree in bioethics. His research has investigated ADHD services, suicide prevention programs, and substance use on college campuses
