Emily Naveira, PhD, holds a doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology.  In her work as an MHS clinician, Emily predominantly uses an existential-liberation approach to therapy and incorporates pluralistic and feminist theory to collaboratively build an experience that is customized to the client and their unique needs.

Emily’s clinical and research interests are in Complex PTSD and those with marginalized identities. She often works with those experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, and life transition concerns as well as those exploring their identities. The focus of her therapy is often values-based exploration and finding ways for clients to feel more comfortable expressing their authentic selves.

Two things Emily especially enjoys about her work:

  • Supporting students in their personal growth
  • Holding space for students in an at times hectic world
