Fred Gager, Psy.D.

MHS Clinician

Pronouns: he/him/his

I completed a doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Antioch New England Graduate School and have been a member of the Counseling Center staff since 2012. Prior to coming to JHU, I provided clinical services in community mental health, employee assistance and hospital settings. My interest in psychology stems from my curiosity: since my childhood, I have been an observer of the world and of people. My beliefs about human nature inform who I am as a therapist. For instance, I believe that the stories we create about our lives impact how we view ourselves and how we experience current life events. One of my specialties is working with students who have concerns about substance use. I have also worked extensively with clients who have been impacted by abuse, neglect or relational violence. I am interested in working with those who have been impacted by adoption.

In my free time I enjoy cooking, growing vegetables, beaches and baseball. I appreciate beautiful places and talented musicians.
