Psychological Assessment Services

Mental Health Services offers a range of psychological and psychoeducational assessments aimed to support students who are currently experiencing academic challenges (i.e., poor grades, academic probation, currently have accommodations that aren’t meeting their needs) or who have complex constellations of issues that would benefit from diagnostic clarification.

Please note: Assessment and testing are specialty services with limited capacity. If an evaluation at Mental Health Services is recommended, clients will be placed on a wait list and scheduled as availability permits. The Referral and Case Management Team can also help students and learners connect with community-based testing resources.

We offer assessment services for the following concerns:

  • ADHD
  • Autism
  • Reading/Writing/Math
  • Comprehensive Psychoeducational Evaluation
  • Neuropsychological Evaluation

Is Testing at Mental Health Services Right for Me?

  • Are you struggling academically and think you may have a disability?
  • Do you need updated testing for standardized test accommodations?
  • Do you have approved accommodations from Student Disability Services, but they are not meeting your needs?
  • Are you able to devote 10 or more hours to the assessment process over a week or two?
  • Do you have records to aid in the assessment process (e.g., report cards/transcripts, medical history, IEP/504 plans)?

What to Expect

Students and learners may be referred for a Psychological Assessment Consultation by a Mental Health Services counseling or psychiatric provider, or by Student Disability Services. Students cannot self-refer for a psychological assessment consultation.

If you do not have a provider, please schedule an Initial Consultation and discuss a referral during your visit.

During the Psychological Assessment Consultation, the clinician will explore your concerns and determine if an evaluation at Mental Health Services is appropriate.

If an evaluation is recommended, students will be scheduled for an assessment intake, along with approximately 9 hours of testing, to be scheduled over a two-week period. Approximately 4 weeks after the last testing day, the student returns to receive a comprehensive report and talk with the clinician about their findings.
