New Calm app login info for Johns Hopkins affiliates

Free premium access to the Calm app has been available to Hopkins affiliates since 2018, and since then more than 31,000 people have used it to meditate, relax, sleep, move, journal and more, all in support of their mental health.

Calm recently updated its login procedure, necessitating some changes to how Hopkins users access the app. Don’t worry—it’s still free to all Hopkins affiliates, and you can even gift Calm subscriptions to friends and family. Read on to learn how to keep accessing Calm or how to get started.

If you are a current user

You need to (re)authenticate your account if you are a current Calm user.

Go to this URL: https://go.calm.com/jhu and follow the instructions. You do not have to use your Hopkins email address to set up your account. Any valid email address will work.

Any current users who do not go through the reauthentication process will lose access to Calm’s premium content on December 1, 2025.

All users will be prompted to reauthenticate their accounts quarterly.

If you are signing up for the first time

Go to this URL: https://go.calm.com/jhu and follow the instructions. You do not have to use your JHU email address to set up your account. Any valid email address will work.

If you want to gift a free Calm subscription to someone else

Every Hopkins Calm user can gift up to five free Calm subscriptions to anyone over the age of 16. The gift subscriptions last as long as the original user is enrolled in or employed by a Johns Hopkins institution.

Go to the Calm.com website in your browser (not the app) and log in. Then go to your profile page.

On your profile page, select “Manage Subscriptions” and then “Manage Dependents.” You can add or remove up to five dependents on your Calm plan by clicking on the button that says “Invite Dependents.” You will then be given a unique URL to send to your friends and family, or enter their email address (es) to send them an automated invitation.

Your Calm “dependents” do not have to be your legal dependents, but they must be age 16+ to receive an invite. When you add dependents, they will be granted Calm Premium access once they follow your invite link and sign up.
