The Office of Health Promotion & Well-beeing is looking for Hopkins affiliate volunteers to help us out with organizing the Out of the Darkness Campus Walk this year.

The Out of the Darkness Walk is a signature event by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), which raises awareness for suicide prevention. It also serves as a fundraiser for outreach efforts and initiatives for an incredibly important cause.

This event was previously held on the JHU East Baltimore campus, but this year we’re expanding it to the broader student body and making our event a part of the JHU Spring Fair 2023. The walk itself is on April 29, 2023.

A bigger event means bigger planning needs, so we’re looking for students to help us on our three planning sub-committees:

  • Marketing & Outreach;
  • Decoration & Vendor Outreach; and
  • Event Logistics & Ceremony.

If you’re interested in getting involved, please reach out to staffers Glen Koh ([email protected]) or Carol Spencer ([email protected]) for more information.
