This office was created as part of the multiyear Student Services Excellence Initiative (SSEI). The purpose of this initiative, started in 2016, is to ensure that at each touchpoint with a student services office or system, students, staff, and faculty will have a positive experience, encounter processes that are streamlined and simplified, and engage with modern technology that meets their needs. The overarching goal of SSEI is to foster an environment that helps students make the most of their time at Johns Hopkins.
Research by SSEI showed that students were being shuffled around from one office to another to get the help they needed. We wanted to make it easier for students and families to get that support, and we wanted to deliver a more holistic student experience.
Features of this new office include:
We want to express our gratitude for the continued support of the SEAM Oversight Committee, which includes representatives from all nine academic divisions. Their valuable contributions led us to this point, and we are tremendously appreciative of their time and dedication.
We hope you will take time to learn about this office in the video above and on the Hub.
Our office is deeply committed to improving each student’s encounter with the university, and we are eager to provide superior services so students can focus on their academic journey.
Sincerely,
Stephen Gange
