April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. This April, we are focusing on healing, supporting survivors, and how to have healthy relationships. Check out our planned events and workshops below.
All events and workshops are virtual and free, but please RSVP using the links below with your Hopkins email so we can send you the meeting info.

Virtual Book Club. Share what you’re reading. Maybe read the same thing together. Chat about it.
Collaborative Spotify Playlist. Share what you’re listening to with others. With your help, this will be a playlist for the ages. (Note: you can only add to a Spotify playlist from a mobile device, not a desktop computer.)
Hear Me Now Submissions. On Sunday May 2, the Sexual Assault Response Unit (SARU) and Center for Health Education and Well-Being (CHEW) are hosting an art display and spoken word event featuring pieces by and for survivors of sexual assault and their allies. (To RSVP to the event as an attendee, see the link below.)
To submit a piece for the Hear Me Now event, please visit this Google form. You can submit anonymously. We’ll accept submissions up until the day of the event. You can choose to have another person perform your piece. This workshop is free, but please RSVP below with your email, so we can send an invite to the Zoom room.
Monday April 5
Event: East Baltimore Refresh Fest
Time: 1-4 pm EDT
Location: Courtyard Behind Pre-Clinical Teaching Building, 725 N. Wolfe Street
Details: The Student Health and Well-being Team is pleased to invite all Johns Hopkins students and trainees to Refresh Fest, a series of outdoor events that will include giveaways, raffle prizes, and information about health and well-being resources.

Event: Downtime Together
Time: 5:30-6:30pm EDT
Location: Virtual.
Details: This is an hour you can use to schedule planned downtime. Sometimes it’s easier to commit to needed downtime if you have it on your calendars, and when other folks are involved too, it’s easier to hold on to that commitment! We will check in as a group, and then spend the hour doing our own individual downtime activity (cameras on or off). You can plan to read, do a hobby, watch tv, or anything else you like. We will share the Zoom link on the day of the event. This event is the first in a series of two and is open to all Hopkins students and trainees.

Event: Green Flags: Healthy Intimate Relationships
Time: 7-8pm EDT
Location: Virtual.
Details: Most people have heard the term “red flag” to describe something concerning, especially around relationships. But what are some green flags we can look for and bring to our relationships? Join us to chat about how to cultivate healthy intimate partnerships in a variety of relationships, including romantic, sexual, friendships, plaotonic, and roommates. This is open to all Hopkins students and trainees.

Event: Mapping IX: Title IX Workshop with Network of Victim Recovery of DC (NVRDC).

Details: NVRDC staff will discuss recent changes to Title IX, how social distancing impacts the law, and next steps for it. This event is open to all Hopkins students and trainees.
