Dear Johns Hopkins Community and Neighbors:
I am writing to invite you to apply for the Johns Hopkins University Police Accountability Board, a 15-member community advisory board that will help to directly shape the development and operation of the future Johns Hopkins Police Department (JHPD). The board will play a pivotal role in the coming year in advising the university as it develops the policies and procedures needed for the anticipated launch of the JHPD in 2023.
We are seeking applicants to fill 10 seats on the accountability board—four students, three community members, two faculty, and one staff member. Board members have a range of views on the JHPD and are expected to share a respect for diversity and a commitment to working across differences to ensure the ultimate success and effectiveness of the JHPD.
Please see our recent Hub article for more information. Applications can be submitted online. The deadline to apply is Monday, Nov. 7.
If you have any questions about the accountability board or the application process, please feel free to contact me at [email protected].
Thank you.
Branville Bard Jr.
Vice President for Public Safety at Johns Hopkins
