Nathan R. Stenberg, PhD, CPT
Advisor, Staff and Faculty Disability Inclusion
Dr. Nathan R. Stenberg is the inaugural advisor for Staff and Faculty with Disabilities at Johns Hopkins University, an instructor in the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine’s Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, and an affiliate of the Johns Hopkins Berman Institute of Bioethics.
He previously served as the university’s first-ever Director of Disability, Culture, and Inclusion, advancing institution-wide policy, research, and culture change. Dr. Stenberg serves on the steering committee for the proposed National Museum of Disability History & Culture. He is also a sought-after public speaker and award-winning filmmaker, multi-disciplinary artist, and certified personal trainer.
Born with a developmental disability and raised in rural Minnesota, Dr. Stenberg is a first-generation college graduate. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in music from Roberts Wesleyan University, a Master of Divinity from Princeton Seminary, and a Doctor of Philosophy in performance historiography from the University of Minnesota. He remains a loyal Minnesota sports fan and enjoys finding new ways to fall artfully.
