{"id":873,"date":"2024-03-08T20:03:06","date_gmt":"2024-03-08T20:03:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wellbeing.jhu.edu\/PrimaryCare\/?page_id=873"},"modified":"2025-12-04T16:02:17","modified_gmt":"2025-12-04T16:02:17","slug":"immunization-faqs","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wellbeing.jhu.edu\/PrimaryCare\/immunization-faqs\/","title":{"rendered":"Immunization FAQs"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary><strong>Are existing students required to complete a health form?<\/strong><\/summary>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>While all students are encouraged to follow public health measures and get vaccinated, the pre-entrance health form will only be a requirement for new in-person students.\u202f\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Note<\/strong> \u2013 Annual flu requirements continue to apply to existing students and new students.\u202f\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary><strong><strong>My titer results were equivocal. What should I do?<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/summary>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You will need to obtain the required immunization.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary><strong>What if I don\u2019t have time to complete a full series of the MMR, Hepatitis B, or Varicella vaccinations prior to my arrival on campus?<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/summary>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For immunizations requiring more than one inoculation (such as measles, rubella, mumps, hepatitis B, and varicella), you must submit proof that you have begun the series and had as many of the inoculations (shots) as possible within the time frame\/schedule specified.&nbsp;You are expected to complete the requirement in a timely manner once you are on campus.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary><strong>How do I know if my documentation has been accepted and I have completed the requirement?<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/summary>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You may check the status of your immunization review status by visiting your <a href=\"https:\/\/myhealth.wellbeing.jhu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">myHealth portal<\/a>. Please allow several weeks for processing of your information before checking your status.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>&nbsp;<strong>What if Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis (TDAP) isn\u2019t available in my home country?<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/summary>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">International students who are unable to receive the <strong>TDAP vaccine<\/strong> in their home countries before coming on campus will have the administrative fine waived if that is their only missing requirement. You will be able to get it at a local pharmacy or at campus clinics.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary><strong>I am a new student, when can I access the health portal?<\/strong><\/summary>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can access the portal after getting your JHU credentials or a JHED ID (Your username will be your JHED ID followed by @jh.edu). For more information, visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/wellbeing.jhu.edu\/PrimaryCare\/health-web-portal\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"40\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">myHealth portal<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary><strong>I still haven&#8217;t received my JHED ID so I am unable to access my Health Portal to submit the required pre-entrance immunizations.<\/strong><\/summary>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You can submit your health form once you get your JHED ID. Programs vary as to when students get access.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Note<\/strong> \u2013 If you are starting during the summer term and get your JHU credentials after May 15th, you will not be penalized. Please make sure to submit your required documentation prior to arrival on campus as soon as you get access.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All forms and requirements are listed on <a href=\"https:\/\/wellbeing.jhu.edu\/PrimaryCare\/health-requirements-for-new-students\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Health Requirements for New Students<\/a>. Here you can find all of this information and fill out the forms while you wait for your JHED ID.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary><strong>Is the Beijing Wantai&#8217;s TB-IGRA accepted for vaccine compliance requirements? <\/strong>  <\/summary>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Beijing Wantai\u2019s TB-IGRA&nbsp;and&nbsp;Qiagen QuantiFERON-TB Gold Plus tests are acceptable TB Blood tests for vaccine compliance.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary><strong>Where can I access the TB screening e-form?<\/strong><\/summary>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>All in-person non-clinical students are required to completed the TB screening electronic form as part of the pre-entrance immunization requirements.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The e-form is available on the <a href=\"https:\/\/myhealth.wellbeing.jhu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">myHealth portal<\/a> in the required forms and immunization section, and must be completed online.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>While you wait to get access to the <a href=\"https:\/\/myhealth.wellbeing.jhu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">myHealth portal<\/a>, you can view the PDF below to prepare for your arrival.
