Morgan Christie, Ph.D.
Staff Psychologist, Coordinator of Services for FLI Students
Dr. Morgan Christie holds her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL. She completed her doctoral internship at University Counseling Services of Virginia Commonwealth University, where she engaged in clinical concentrations on trauma and LGBTQ+ mental health. Along with previous experiences in college counseling with specialized training in substance use and disordered eating/body image concerns, Morgan also has community mental health experience in substance use recovery and rape crisis/interpersonal violence. In addition to clinical work, Morgan was a public policy fellow at the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute, where she focused on reproductive justice. In her work with students, Morgan draws on her various experiences to better understand how multiple social contexts impact student wellbeing. Morgan primarily uses an intersectional feminist approach to therapy and supervision, rooted in relational, social justice, and empowerment approaches. She is committed to decolonizing mental health and challenging systems of power that create barriers to individual and collective healing. She is passionate about working with FLI (first generation, limited income) students, engaging in trauma work, providing queer-affirmative care, and creating space for body affirmation and wellness. In her spare time, Morgan can be found photographing neighborhood cats, wandering around bookstores, and eating croissants.
